A little love note from me to you

I’ve received a lot of touching mail from readers lately thanking me for my work, and I’d like to take this opportunity to thank you for thanking me. Cooking, hosting, making home, and finding ways to make every day life more inviting in general, have always been passionate subjects for me. But they’re also challenging to talk about, because not everyone sees their value or takes them seriously. When people do and say so, it’s very gratifying to hear. Interestingly, many of the letters of appreciation I get are from people who are going through difficult times. This affirms for me the fact that focussing on the so-called little things in life and putting care into them is a healthy way of taking care of ourselves. Downright medicinal, in fact.

So, to those of you who have written lately — and indeed over the years — thank you for your words of encouragement. I’ll stick to my subjects because there’s always more to learn, they certainly never bore me, and I believe they matter. I’m so glad you think so, too!

Big love from me to you. You are my Valentines!

xo,

Laura (and Peter, too)
