Hi Laura, I have that cookbook. In fact I also bought another copy and gave it as a gift to a dear friend. It is one of the most beautiful cookbooks ever. French idyllic indeed !
Hi Pam, I think mine is good for 8 to 10 and I'm not totally sure what size it is. I think you should just walk into a shop and have a look. It's best to hold anything in the hand and eye-ball it.
Thank you Laura for a lovely read and useful information. The Mexican cookbook and daikon pickle are on my to do / to buy list now. See? You are an influencer and I’d bet you didn’t know it…. happy to see your name in my inbox anytime.
I’m finding it difficult to relate to the instinct for braising, being away from those wet, chilly days of late fall in Canada. I was recently served a delicious pumpkin soup but it was lighter than a Canadian version and appropriate for a moderate climate. It is one of those dishes that I have always loved!
Lighter pumpkin soups are better, even here. People always make them too much of a purée here which is overly heavy. We have been promised a few days on pan con tomate weather ourselves before the real cold settles in. Here's hoping. Enjoy your days of anchovies and olives over there!
Lovely to know you’ve had a beautiful fall season! I’ve been receiving lovely photos from friends. Speaking of anchovy, it is a large and incredibly tasty fish here, not the little salty things I knew at home. I was so pleased to be introduced to this wonder. And the olives!!
Pickled daikon, yes please. 🙏🏼

How nice!
Wondering what size of braiding pot suits most people cooking for max 6 people??

Thanks Laura, great read! I really enjoyed the LA Times article on Anne Willan as well.
Yes, me too. I was happy to find that!
